Ranga Mandira is an organisation headed by Ms Swarnamalya Ganesh , a prominent dancer and an actor.
This organisation has been initiated for the children to know about their own culture and the depth of our traditional fine arts such as Bharatanatyam and Carnatic music; and learn them .
We the members of Ranga Mandira have two groups in our organisation which are :-
1.Natyashala
2.Sangitashala
The Natyashala -
This group is the dance group which teaches Bharatanatyam . This group's teachers are Mrs.Seelakshi & Ms.Swarnamalya. The classes are held on Saturdays and Sundays.
The Sangitashala-
This group is the music group which teaches
Carnatic music . This group's teachers are Ms.Vidya & Mrs.Nitya.
There are two batches in this group. The Monday-Thursday batch &
the Saturday-Sunday batch .
We also have annual vijaya dasami festivals during the navaratri time and celebrate festivals and national festivals harmoniously.
we promote our students to stage performance take them for heritage trios and do traditional things such as the unchavrithis , performing in temples . We were the honorable representatives of the Desiyakavi Bharatiyar's Unchavrithi in the year 2010 , which is done in rotation by all prominent schools of music and dance.

ReplyDeleteRanga Mandira is a school where we promote the learning of classical arts in a holistic way. The students of Natya Shala are taught Bharatanatyam along with music, dance theory, history, folk arts and other heritage appreciation courses. The students of Sangeeta Shala, the students are taught theory, music history, bhajans and music appreciation along with classical carnatic music.
Ranga Mandira celebrates its anniversary on the 5th of October at 6 pm at the Mahalakshmi hall, R.A.Puram. A collective presentation of music and dance where the sangeeta shala students whill sing for which the natya shala students would dance. They will also give small talks of various aspects of dance and music each for 5mins. Topics such as laya in music, the difference between tana and pada varnams, temples and classical arts will be covered.
Ranga Mandira awards certificates to the students who have successfully achieved various levels in their syllabus. They will be awarded “Natya-Prathama sikshita”, “sangeeta dvitiya sikshita” etc as per their levels of accomplishment. The chief guests who will honour the occasion, give the certificates and bless the students are Sri. B.M.Sundaram, renowned musicologist and Sri.V.Narayanaswamy, President Triplicane cultural academy and Trustee Mahalakshmi Hall.
